Silk Veils are luxurious in nature. When a wedding veil is created in Silk Tulle it has a very soft drape and therefore there will be no body in the veil. 

It is possible to order  Silk tulle in two different finishes and two different widths.  We have soft silk tulle available in  (15 colours) and in the firm silk tulle in 5 colours; Ivory, White, Black, Champagne, Rose Red and Pale Pink.

The firmer silk tulle can have a wider edging added to the veil as it can support the weight of a heavier weave. There are images below which are suitable for the firm silk tulle or the bridal illusion tulle.

Both types of silk tulle can have swarovski crystals added to the veil.

 Kate Middleton Veil

We are able to create our Kate Middleton Veil from Soft Silk tulle and we can add French Lace Edgings to the veil. Soft silk tulle is a very delicate fabric but the laces shown in the image below are either French Leivers Lace or Antique French Lace. The weave is very delicate and therefore it does not plucker or pull the silk Fabric. All of our edgings are applied by hand with  extreme care and delicacy.

Chosing your Kate Middleton Veil

1. Decide your length. We can make the length to your requirements see wedding veil info

Kate's Veil was a drop veil fingertip length as shown above. You can also chose to have the fingertip Veil gathered on a comb which creates a slightly shorter length. (see gallery) or you can have your veil tailored to your requirements. 

2. Select the colour of silk tulle required for your wedding veil 

 

3. Decide if you would like a cut edge or a French Lace Trim. We have Lace edgings in the       following colours;

 How to wear a soft silk tulle wedding veil over your face

The Duchess of Cambridge wore her Silk tulle veil mounted on a beautiful halo tiara. This worked well as the soft silk blusher section was lifted slightly off her face. If you are thinking of chosing a tiara be careful that the headpiece or tiara does not have any rough edges to the diamante, stones or crystals finish as the soft silk can get tangled on the headpiece and pucker. Smooth lines on the headpiece or tiara will reduce this risk.

You can of course select not to wear the front blusher section and have a two layer veil worn behind your head or a one layer veil.

How to wear a Drop Veil

The drop veil is an Oval veil shape two layer veil which allows you to wear your veil with a section over your face. It creates a very sleek veil shape as there is no sewing or gathering in the fabric.  

So how do you wear your drop veil? There are three options to chose from:

1.We can attached a comb to the veil with only a few stitches to hold the comb in place. 

 

2.We can attached a comb to the veil with gathering stitches. This means that the oval shape of the veil will be slightly drawn in. The front blusher section will be slightly shorter.

 3. You can attach the Drop veil with a hat pin or straight hairpin. We can supply these  if required.

If you chose the Hatpin to attach your veil first select were you want to place your veil. Then weave the pin through the fabric and your hair. When you lift back the front blusher section of your veil the fabric will lie flat. 

If you chose the straight hairpin first place your veil where you would like to wear it with both layers behind your head. Then place the pin through one layer of the veil edge and then your hair. Reapeat this along the edge of the veil.

Wearing a Drop Veil with a Tiara

If you are wearing a Tiara with a drop veil I believe that it is best to have a comb attached with no gathers and then fasten the front edge of the veil with the straight hair pins.  You can have your veil sewn to your Tiara but then your cannot wear you Tiara alone in the evening. Images illsutrate below are of a silk tulle veil.

1. Place your veil where you would like to wear it with both layers behind your head. Push the comb into your hair.

2. Push the pin gently through one layer of the veil edge and then through your hair. Attach a row of pins across the width of the veil.

3.With both layers behind your head place the Tiara tight against  the secured edge of the veil.

4. Then attach your pins to the edge of the tiara and throught the fabric in the same way as above.

This approach means that you will have no gap between the tiara and the veil and it will also allow you to take off your veil and leave your Tiara in place for the reception.

Choosing the Firm Silk Tulle

Firm silk tulle has more structure to the fabric and is therefore able to support a heavier weave than the soft silk tulle. The weave of the firm silk tulle is slightly wider apart. 

You can select the narrow French leivers lace French Calais lace or chose from one of these wider laces French Laces for the edging of your veil. All of these images are available in Ivory.
